#MeetAPacker – Elger a.k.a. Stitch

Ohai!

profielfoto_elgerMy name is Elger, also known as Stitch. This is my fourth edition of DreamHack with the Intel Pack4DreamHack crew. The fourth time Sweden, fourth winter, visiting the biggest digital festival in the world. A thousand kilometer travel. It’s got a lot to promise. Three years ago it was overwhelming: an event the size of several hangars with games, an expo, performances, internet culture and crazy (beautiful) Swedes. I wanted to contribute, and so it happened.

During dinner two years ago, a spontaneous idea came up to do a DJ liveset. Just a few hours before we departed, Dixz and I were mixing great hardstyle and hardcore tunes on the main stage. Last year I brought an Atari 2600 classic gaming console to play PONG, again on the main stage. It took two days of organizing everything ad-hoc: prizes, technical stuff and even an old-school TV. With 250 people eager to participate this was epic. This year it’s time for something new again. I do a lot for Awesome Retro: a foundation aiming to make retro-games available for everyone. We made a two-meters-wide and plug-and-play game controller for the famous Nintendo Entertainment System. They are ready to steal the show with the Super Mario Bros. competition: participants can win awesome gear such as a gaming kit from Logitech G. A livestream URL will be posted on this channel, so stay tuned. For me, DreamHack means organizing things, the great atmosphere, helping out and having fun with the Intel Pack4DreamHack and DreamHack crews. Wouldn’t like to miss it, so here I am :).
