The race to Sweden

Published on November 25th, 2010

Our bustrip to Sweden did not quite go according to plan for some of us, including me. After a wrong train connection to Eindhoven, a faulty address in our GPS and a flat tire we were stuck in the middle of nowhere and the place itself was so deserted we actually needed 3 hours to sufficiently describe where exactly we were in order to be able to get some help. By the time somebody had finally found us and fixed our flat tire, we were unable to either get on the bus in Utrecht nor Enschede in time. Therefore we decided to race all the way to Puttgarden Germany in an attempt to catch up on the bus which was getting on the boat to Denmark. Also due to circumstances we had to ride with 7 in a medium sized Volkswagen, which appeared to be on the edge of impossibilty. 3 up front and 4 in the back, including all our gear turned this into one bumpy ride. Going with an average speed of 160 km/h we managed to catch the boat in the very last minute. We even had to run the last few 100 meters! No use saying we were extremely satisfied to have made it in this tense race against time. Several sleepless hours later we arrived in Jonkoping and are now checking out everything Dreamhack has to offer. We will keep you posted with images, videos and other content!
