In the past weekend we suddenly received word that Robert Ohlén, better known to the public as ‘BossDH’ had stepped down from the CEO position within DreamHack and would be leaving DreamHack. Yesterday a press release came out indeed confirming that Robert Ohlén was relieved of his duties as CEO:

“Why is the board relieving Robert as CEO at DreamHack?
At the end of the day it’s about the faith and confidence internally for Robert Ohlén as CEO was missing. DreamHack has had great development and growth with Robert as CEO but we’re sure that in order to continue development we needed these structural changes that have now happened.”

This means that from now on Marcus Lindmark will be the new CEO of DreamHack AB. Marcus has long been a member of the DreamHack crew and has worked fulltime for the company since 2007. A perfect choice if you ask us as we know Marcus will certainly push on to keep DreamHack awesome.

The press release also showed some other structural changes:

“In connection to the appointment of the new CEO, DreamHack is also re-organizing the leadership structure within DreamHack. A new management team including Marcus Lindmark (CEO), Stefan Magnusson (Vice President) and Tomas Lyckedal (Business Development) will drive the company’s direction.”

And last, but certainly not least, we want to congratulate Bas Bruinekool, whom originally led our videoteam as ‘Kaos.TV’ back in 2009 and 2010. He will be working for DreamHack as the new Technical Producer and TOM for DreamHack’s media productions. We are very proud to say that Bas got his first tastes of DreamHack as a Packer!

We want to congratulate DreamHack with these new changes and are certain that they’ll usher in a new period of growth for the company as a whole. We would also like to point out that these recent changes will not in any way affect the event itself to be held next month in Jönköping. If you want to read more about this all, please refer to the press release.
