#MeetAPacker – Jeroen A.K.A. Joene

Oppassen luitjes!

If you guys had told me three years ago I was going to a Lan event all the way in Sweden, I probably would have laughed out loud and told you: “No I’m not. You’re an idiot. Et cetera, et cetera.”. Intel Pack4DreamHack Winter 2011 is however far behind and I’m making myself ready for my fifth trip to DreamHack. That means I sat in a bus for a total amount of 85 hours after this edition. Worth it?

Well, since not many of my real friends come with me to DreamHack, friends that I would actually invite to my birthday instead of people that are nice, I’m actually not always looking forward to going to Jönköping again. Especially not in Winter, when there is quite a big possibility that you can find snow outside. But since I never actually saw a Swedish snowflake up until now (*knocking on wood at the moment*) it’s not all bad. I might not be that guy telling all those ‘epic stories’ from Sweden, or the guy that shares every Swedish bikini babe he finds. When I first set foot in the bus however, even I can’t deny that it’s going to be fun again. So let’s turn this little blog around and make it a bit happier ^^.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jeroen, nicknamed ‘Joene’ or ‘Handsome Joene’ and you probably know me from all those funny little videos they make me do. It started with funny photos with the goodies and nowadays I’m recording my ass off making videos about Intel, contests from our partners, goodies and game giveaways. During the bus trip and at DreamHack I’m busy working together with our video team, our website team, photographer Luc Marc and talking to the Packers. I’m basically Rob 2.0. With a better first name, sharing it with only three other Packers this Winter.

So, although I’m not always looking forward to the trip, it did bring me a lot of good things. I really like the evenings, where we’re going to eat with a group of around eight to ten people. Always really fun. DreamHack also introduced me to hardstyle. I’m really more of a rock- and metal fan, but some of the songs and acts that I saw were quite nice, with Frontliner being my favourite up until now. The expo with all of its new technology is always fun to stop by as well, and other things that I won’t forget are the earplug meets sock puppet show in the bus, the dumb blonde chicks that didn’t understand English that well and the fact that I actually play some games at a Lan event.

But hopefully, the best memories will be made this edition or some edition in the future. I will see you guys and girls tomorrow!

#MeetAPacker is a series of blogs where our lucky participants get a chance to tell their story of Intel Pack4DreamHack. Their experiences, thoughts and stories are what make this event so unique and fun to do for us. Read the stories and get to understand the minds of our own.
