Hey there! My name is Larissa. I’m one of the lucky participants for the DreamHack winter edition of 2013. I’ve been to LAN parties before, but this is my first visit to DreamHack, and I’m actually coming all alone. So I guess that’s a little bit scary, but it’s exciting at the same time! I expect to meet a lot of new people, and make some new friends.

One of the things I’m really looking forward to is the Battlefield 4 championship. Big scale open warfare, flying, strategic thinking and a lot of teamwork. I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to see this game played by professionals. I absolutely love this game!

The League of Legends championship is one of the things I want to watch as well. I started playing this game like half a year ago, so I’m quite new to it. Support and midlane are my favorite roles, with being support on number one. When I started playing, I also immediately started to follow the professional League of Legends scene. The Asian teams interested me the most because of their dedication and abilities. NaJin Black Sword, SK Telecom T1K, Royal Club etc etc. But I’m looking forward to see SK-gaming, Ninja’s in Pyjama’s , H2K-gaming and the other teams play as well.

What also pulled me towards DreamHack are the social events. There are a lot of party’s and DJ’s showing up. Personally I love techno and deephouse music the most when having a party, but hardstyle might be an interesting change of scenery. And if I don’t like the music, there are always the people that can make it a lot of fun!

I also love the idea of the DreamExpo. Gaming companies interest me a lot, and it might be a good opportunity to get some connections for an internship abroad. I study Oriental languages and communication with a major in Japanese. My whole study is based around other cultures and the gaming-culture is one that interest me a lot as well. Especially in the Asian countries (Korea, Japan, China) gaming is a big topic.

So basically DreamHack feels to me like a big social event, and it’s not all about sitting behind your computer and playing games. There is a lot to discover and new opportunities and people to meet. I’m looking forward to come to DreamHack!

I’m interested in the battlefield 4 compo too. Though sadly its just 5on5 domination. Meaning not big open warfare with jets etc. going around.
Though main goal, League of Legends and the booths and meeting up old WoW friends for me 😀
