Since DreamHack just posted their Counter Strike 1.6 details we thought we had to follow and present our benelux CS1.6 lineup!

Over the past few editions we have had several benelux Counter Strike 1.6 teams try to either win the Main tournament of DreamHack or just get through the BYOC. With mixed results each year. This Summer we will have three different CS1.6 teams that will be taking the roadtrip to Jönköping to prove their worth in the scene. While it won’t be the first time Kaos Gaming will be competing in the Main Tournament after winning the Benelux Qualifiers it will be the first time they play DreamHack with a lineup change so shortly to the event. Daniel ‘dDd’ Dougle got replaced by skire, and it has to be seen if this team will make it against the likes of Na’Vi, fnatic, mTw and others.

However, Mojo Amsterdam, seemingly new on the scene, better known as Famazing with players like Secret Story Guido ‘guidson’ Gijsbers and the likes of faah and tazzie, did show some nice skills at The Party. Eventually placing second, just after our qualifier winner Kaos Gaming we have high hopes for them of getting through the BYOC competition. Although this will not be easy (dozens of well skilled teams will also try), but we have seen it happen last Winter with the Kaos Gaming team back then.

And LowLandLions will also sent a team along with Intel Pack4DreamHack. With the recent departure of Jody ‘skire’ van ‘t Hul they will also, just like Kaos, have to find their balance within the team and set focus to winning the BYOC competition. Replacements for skire are Decio ‘DeKMaTcHer’ Pinto and Ivan ‘Apollo’ Wuddhisukhum, two players from the old days.

With only 12 teams eventually participating for that 60.000SEK first place, and only 2 BYOC spots available it will be hard for the benelux scene to get all three in that top 12. We wish all the teams good luck with their trip to DreamHack and offcourse that magic #1 spot!
